  This Boots has recently been refurbished and totally rearranged. I'm not entirely sure what the main reason was for this, but I think a shift in product focus and general appearance are perhaps the most noticeable? There used to be two tills near the front, another till by no.7/perfume, an over-the-counter pharmacy section and then a separate prescription area. Now this has all been streamlined to one till at the front and numerous tills at the pharmacy, which is now bigger and more open, with all pharmacy services together. As well as a consultation room there is a hidden area behind a wall where shutters open when needed, which is a new feature, and is used as a more private dispensary and for sharps disposal. The store is now more spacious and feels cleaner, more clinical, and the new layout seems to have facilitated a faster and better-stocked pharmacy. I remember long waiting times in the past, with items often not being in stock and needing to be ordered in, but now prescriptions are dealt with more rapidly and it looks as though there are more staff on hand here. Unfortunately the store now closes 30 minutes earlier, which caught me out at first, but this is the only negative. The staff are competent, polite and helpful, and have gone beyond the call of duty for me on a number of occasions.
